What We Tested?
In order to match the photo recovery applications, we used a 1GB USB card containing images coming from a camera. The card originally had 130 images that we deleted 121, and left 9 of them as they are. We then ran the application on all 4 applications.
Note: We only tested JPEG recovery as that is still probably the most popular camera format. Adroit, Digital Photo Recovery and Photo Rescue all support a limited quantity of Camera RAW formats (very high definition camera files). Hetman doesn’t manage to support RAW but supports a quantity of other photo formats the others do not. However, since we're thinking about the most common kind of photos we simply used the JPEG format.
Here are our findings:
Ease of Use:
The interface in most software products was basic and not confusing. Typically it took a minimum of three procedures in almost each of the software packages to recoup files. In Photo Rescue, however, it took four steps for quick recovery and more than four steps for advanced recovery.
Adroit Photo Recovery offers up automatic detection of devices although you may connect a removable drive as soon as the software initiated a policy of. Digital Photo Recovery and Photo Rescue have refresh buttons which can be clicked and for Hetman you have to restart the application form to the drive to become detected.
Adroit and Photo Rescue accepted disk images although some didn't. Quality of Photo Recovery: Adroit Photo Recovery was the only real software that could recover fragmented photograph files and distinguish valid and invalid photo files. As a result, Adroit was able to recuperate more photo files than other software. All software programs were able to extract photo files from corrupted drives though in most the big mistake messages needed being ignored.
Trying to recoup the deleted photos we've got these results:

Efficiency of Recovery: Most software applications showed the thumbnail pictures of recovered photo files though Hetman had additional options for viewing files. Adroit also provided useful specifics of the photo files like date-time information, height, width, sized file along with other information ideal for recovery. Hetman also provided a number of this useful information.
